The Absolute Truth About God

In a prayer to the Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ said, "Thy word is truth" (John 17:17). The Bible is God's word, and is therefore the absolute truth. In John 8:31-32 Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." We invite you to freedom. Look up the Bible verses referenced after the following statements, to see that the statements are true.

  1. God was before the universe, and the universe cannot contain him; therefore pantheism (the idea that everything is God) is wrong (John 17:5 and 1 Kings 8:27).
  2. The true God is a living, invisible, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immutable, holy, honest, loving, and personal Spirit (1 Thes. 1:9; 1 Tim. 1:17; Rev. 19:6; 1 John 3:20; Acts 17:22-34; James 1:17; Is. 6:3; Heb. 6:18; John 3:16; 1 John 4:7-21 John 4:24).
  3. There is only one God, not many gods (1 Tim. 2:5; 1 Cor. 8:6).
  4. The one God has three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:26; Mat. 3:13-17; 28:19); and these three are one (Col. 2:8-9; 1 John 5:7).
